Please read and understand the following rules, regulations, and privacy policies before residing at Syed Boys Hostel.
Important Notice: By residing in Syed Boys Hostel, every student/resident acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with these Terms & Conditions.
1. Rent & Payment
All students/residents must pay their monthly rent/dues within 5 days of the due date.
Failure to pay within the specified period may result in a late payment fine.
Continued non-payment may result in cancellation of hostel accommodation.
2. Leaving the Hostel
Any resident who wishes to leave the hostel must inform the administration at least one month in advance.
Failure to provide one month’s prior notice will result in forfeiture of the security deposit.
The room must be handed over in a clean and satisfactory condition before departure.
3. Guests & Visitors
Male/Female guests are strictly prohibited inside residents’ rooms or accommodation areas.
Overnight stays by guests are strictly prohibited.
Any resident found violating this rule may have their hostel accommodation terminated and security deposit forfeited, and their parents/guardians may be informed.
Visitors may only be permitted in designated/common areas and during the timings specified by the administration.
4. Security & Personal Belongings
The hostel administration will not be responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings.
Residents are responsible for keeping their valuables, documents, mobile phones, laptops, and other belongings secure.
Residents must immediately report any suspicious activity, theft, or security concern to the administration.
5. Electronic Appliances & Electricity
The use of unauthorized/high-power electrical appliances such as heaters, heating rods, electric stoves, irons, TVs, etc. is strictly prohibited unless specifically permitted by the administration.
Any resident found using prohibited electrical appliances may face termination of accommodation and forfeiture of security deposit and/or rent, as applicable.
Residents must switch off lights, fans, air conditioners, and other electrical appliances before leaving their rooms.
6. Illegal & Prohibited Activities
Rooms must not be used for any commercial, illegal, criminal, or unauthorized activities.
Consumption, possession, or distribution of illegal drugs or other prohibited substances is strictly forbidden.
Gambling, harassment, violence, and any activity that may disturb or endanger other residents are strictly prohibited.
Any serious violation may result in immediate termination of hostel accommodation and forfeiture of the security deposit, subject to applicable law.
7. Discipline & Conduct
Every resident is expected to maintain respectful and appropriate behavior toward other residents, hostel staff, security personnel, and administration.
Misconduct, abusive language, fighting, threats, harassment, or disrespectful behavior may result in disciplinary action.
Residents must cooperate respectfully with the watchman/security staff and avoid unnecessary arguments or confrontations.
A resident may be expelled from the hostel for serious misconduct or repeated violations of hostel rules.
8. Room & Property Rules
Residents must keep their rooms clean and hygienic.
Nails, drilling, wall chalking, graffiti, stickers, or any other damage to walls/furniture are not permitted.
No resident may change their room, bed, furniture arrangement, fixtures, or room setting without prior permission from the administration.
Residents will be responsible for any damage caused to hostel property due to negligence or misuse.
9. Noise & Mutual Respect
Residents must maintain a peaceful environment and avoid excessive noise, loud music, shouting, or activities that disturb others.
Quiet hours may be observed during the timings specified by the administration.
Residents must respect the privacy, belongings, and personal space of other residents.
10. Identification & Verification
Police verification and biometric registration are mandatory for every resident.
Residents must provide accurate identification and other documents required by the hostel administration.
Any change in personal information, emergency contact, or identification details must be communicated to the administration.
11. Safety & Emergencies
Residents must follow all hostel fire safety, emergency, and evacuation procedures.
Tampering with fire extinguishers, alarms, electrical systems, CCTV cameras, locks, or other safety equipment is strictly prohibited.
Any emergency, accident, medical issue, fire, or security concern must be reported immediately to the administration.
12. Keys & Access
Residents must keep their room/cupboard keys secure and must not hand them over to unauthorized persons.
Loss of keys must be reported immediately. Any applicable replacement or lock-changing charges will be borne by the resident.
13. Administration’s Authority
Residents must comply with reasonable instructions issued by the hostel administration for security, cleanliness, discipline, and smooth operation of the hostel.
The administration reserves the right to take appropriate disciplinary action against residents who violate these terms and conditions.
Repeated or serious violations may result in termination of hostel accommodation and forfeiture of applicable deposits/charges, in accordance with the hostel’s stated policies.
14. General Responsibility
Every resident is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, respectful, and peaceful environment within the hostel.
Residents are expected to read and comply with all hostel rules, including any additional reasonable rules communicated by the administration from time to time.
